PACC Houston highlighted Palestinian cinema with Palestine ’36, presented at River Oaks Theatre as part of a growing year of film and cultural storytelling.
The Houston screening
The screening period ran from March 26 through April 2, 2026 at River Oaks Theatre. It brought Palestinian cinema into one of Houston’s public film spaces and connected local audiences with a story rooted in Palestinian experience.
Film creates room for audiences to encounter history, place, and perspective together. That shared encounter is central to PACC’s public cultural mission.

Cinema and cultural memory
Palestinian film is part of a wider field of cultural expression that includes visual art, music, performance, food, embroidery, and community gathering.
By supporting public screenings, PACC helps make those stories accessible to both Palestinian audiences and the wider Houston community.
